Internet Sales Boost Local Logistics Company

Booming internet sales have been hitting the headlines throughout January, and for one company this rise in internet trade has resulted in a massive increase in workload.

Anchor Storage, based near Debenham in Suffolk, has seen an incredible 90% increase in internet orders for goods at the start of 2008.

Managing Director, Stephen Britt, explains: "Over the past year we have seen a steady increase in internet orders for goods coming through, but the 90% increase over the Christmas break is staggering. We have a robust ordering system in place to manage large influxes of orders and have despatched everything on time. We are now moving more and more into internet order fulfilment, offering the full logistics package including pick and pack, labelling, and next day courier services for internet entrepreneurs, not just in the UK but across the world."

To ensure the smooth running of the internet sales side of the business, Anchor Storage has embraced new technology itself by introducing an online stock management system, 'ReportIT' which will allow customers to view their stock holding at Anchor online - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Stephen continues: "We are capable of handling very large orders of all sorts of products here at Anchor Storage, from rugs and tents to bikes and basketware. No matter what the shape or size we can store bulk imports and then pick, pack and distribute individual items as required across the UK."

With the increase in internet business, Anchor Storage is confident that its bespoke service for internet entrepreneurs will continue to grow, bringing new business from across the globe to their Suffolk headquarters.
